Mission Statement

Riverside Community Parks Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is geared toward helping primarily youth, pre-teen, at-risk teens, young adults, men and women and the elderly. We work in the areas of mentoring, counseling, education, job readiness, job preparation, personal empowerment and parenting. Parks Association provides monthly meetings and community awareness to the residents here in the City of Riverside and constantly augments outreach to our communities, with these services we help to give residents alternatives to the life styles that have crippled our city and by designing individual programs to help residents accomplish their goals we are doing our part. We * Assist resident design long-term strategies to achieve their goals. * Providing instruction to aid individuals become better parents and mentors. * Providing job training, i.e. computer classes reading/writing and math skills. * Providing personal preparation for job readiness, i.e., attire, disposition success strategies and empowerment. * Provide interview training, resumes, job development and professional skills.. * Providing counseling and guidance for emotional and physical abuse. * Providing counseling for substance abuse. * Providing health and nutritional care information classes. * Providing mentoring and support for collaborative community organizations * Getting pre-teens, teens and young adults out of gangs. * Support system for the elderly and individuals that are ADA challenged. * To create an inclusive demographic community. * Create infrastructure that will offer amenities to those most in need. * Competitive sports activities to foster alternatives to gang or criminal involvement.

Jacob Hernandez, Vice PRESIDENT

Jacob Hernandez has been honored with the Jack B. Clarke Good Neighbor Award which recognizes residents for their acts of goodness and calls attention in a positive way to the benefits of being a good neighbor. This award was established in 1996 to commemorate the late Councilman Jack B. Clarke, Sr.’s vision of building neighborhood relationships and bringing neighborhoods together for the betterment of the City of Riverside.
